OFFSHORE: The Red Snapper have definitely been showing off, with several limits being caught. The local offshore captains have been making it look easy. Capt. Pete Barwick of Bounty Bay Charters has them dialed in . Captain Jason Williams of Chasin Dreams Charters had another great week as well. Cigar minnows, and cut bait are getting it done. On a side note, here at BlueWater Outriggers we just got our hands on some Daiwa Saltiga lever drags so stop in and check them out. They won't last long.
INSHORE: The morning bite will be the best time of day using top water plugs, such as Mirro-lures Top dog or She- pup, popping corks are a great alternative if you're chasing trout and redfish. The flounder bite has been good using flounder jigs or either a bull or mudminnow. We usually have these available at BlueWater Outriggers as well as live shrimp, Captain Tim Wilder of T-Man Charters has been staying after the trout using live shrimp and they have been paying off, Z-man Diezel Minnow's Are another great option.
FRESHWATER: The Rivers have been good this past week. The Shellcracker and Bluegill have been decent using worms and crickets. Rooster tails and beetle spins have been great alternatives. The large mouth have also been good in area lakes and ponds early morning bite seems to be the best time using spinnerbaits around logs and lily pads. If you're heading out this week, don't forget to stop in and see us for any updated fishing reports. We have all your bait and tackle needs as well. You want to make sure you grab some sunscreen as well until next week, tight lines and don't forget those lifejackets and lanyards.
