BlueWater Outriggers Fishing-Hunting Report 2-12-2025
OFFSHORE: Jake Harpe here at Bluewater has been on the Red grouper and B-Liners. He says you need to be in 100 feet of water, and live or cut bait have been working well. The Amberjack bite has been good using 2 ounce Spro jigs over wrecks and reefs.
INSHORE: Red Fish continue to improve in the bay, swim baits such as the Z man diesel minnow in pinfish color, have been working well. If you want to amp up that bait, put some Pro Cure on it. That stuff really works. Trout are also biting but season is still closed so handle them with care, they are the future. Sheephead are starting to turn on as well, for the best results fish around pilings, docks and jetties with a #1 or #2 hook and a fiddler crab.
FRESHWATER : The Bluegill and Shellcracker bite has been good. Look for them on shell and gravel bottoms, crickets or worms are getting the most bites. Bass are starting to go on bed so you know the water is warming up. Water temp has been in the mid 60s on the Chipola River. Catfish have been really good this week on cut bait in the deeper holes.
HUNTING: Our photo this week is of John Jones from Wewahitchka. He bagged this nice buck last week out of his tree stand in Gulf County.
