The following report is from my good friend Capt. Lee Thompson of Shallow Seas.
Sheepshead bite has really turned on and they are on pretty much any bottom structure. The artificial reefs off of Mexico beach are producing good sized sheepshead in good numbers. Live shrimp or fiddler crabs will get the job done. Redfish are somewhat scattered and there are a lot of trout around and the bigger ones are a little reluctant to bite at times. Artificial baits such as paddle tails will trigger good bites but a lot of the trout will be small. Same thing with flounder. There's a lot out there but a lot of them are small.
Until next week. Happy Fishing !
