BlueWater Outriggers Fishing Report 4-8-2024
OFFSHORE: Beeliners continue to be the most common catch. followed closely by Mangrove Snapper. Most are being caught over reefs on either cut bait or live shrimp.
INSHORE: Capt. Chase Wilder of Signal 0 Charters, put his crew on a cooler of Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, and Trout this week. Capt. Chris Lantz of Gettin Reel Sportfishing had another productive week as well with Trout, Redfish and Sheephead all being caught in St. Joe Bay. Captain Lee Thompson of Shallow Seas Charter brought in the catch this week with Trout among other species on live shrimp. Flounder bite continues to improve on live shrimp and bull minnows.
FRESHWATER: The river levels have been falling and fishing is picking up with Shell Crackers at the top of the list. They are also being caught along with Catfish on Lake Wimico. Red Wiggers and cut bait in the Dead Lakes continues to be productive for Shell Crackers. Use a number 10 gold hook tipped with a Red Wiggler or Beetle Spin. Largemouth are also good on artificial worms and lizards. Jitterbug works great at early morning or late evening.
