Scallop season has kicked in to full gear in St. Joseph Bay. Initial reports are not great but if you know where to go a lot of folks are getting their limit. Reports are also that many are smaller in size. As an overview, limits are one pint meat per person or two gallons whole per person. Vessel limits are 10 gallons in shell or 1/2 gallon meat. Please see myFWC.com for further rules and regulations. As in years past scalloping creates a challenge for fishing. The key is being in an area not covered up with boats. As we always say this time of year you gotta sneak up on the fish with so many people and boats in the water.
Until next week. Happy Fishing !
