Things are improving around the Forgotten Coast in the fishing world. Nice Reds and big Trout seem to be plentiful here lately. Flounder catch continues to get better in the bay and they are also catching some huge Reds over in Apalachicola, like this 40 plus inch 27 lb Bull Red just caught a few days ago by Rachel Twait-Dean a BlueWater Customer with Captain Krista of Apalachicola.
Redfish
Effective baits continue to vary from live shrimp to soft plastics and we have even heard buck tail jigs are taking Reds under the Highland View bridge. Sheepshead bite continues to improve along the bay markers and off the walls up in the canals and live shrimp are taking fish in these areas. A quick note the St. Joe Marina parking lot is back open for you folks fishing along the sea walls and the jetty.
Don't forget anglers the BlueWater Outriggers Tent Sale is just around the corner the first weekend of April.
Until next week, Happy Fishing !
